This anthem, for SATB, may be performed with organ accompaniment, or a capella. It is based on several biblical texts, of which a few are quoted here: “So do not be afraid, for I am with you”, “For I the Lord God will hold thy hand”, “My peace I give to you, not as the world gives.....” It is very melodic and moderately contrapuntal. |
