Frost . Snow - 2’ 30”

Frost . Snow  - Two miniatures  -

These two pieces may be performed together or separately.

Written in 2003 this tiny piece uses the upper register of the piano, giving a cold, crisp, clear feeling, like frost.

This miniature (October 1986) encapsulates the silent feel of a world enveloped in snow, with its deep, pianissimo octaves in the left hand contrasted with the lighter, delicate notes in the right.

“Oh beautiful land of deep snowy wastes, this world of white, where land meets sky, and nothing hastes. A world of peace and snowy silences......”
